Annual Inspection
Whether installed in a commercial or residential structure, fire alarm systems can save lives and reduce property loss. According to a Governmental Agency, the combined annual losses from floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes and other natural disasters total less than those from fires. Clearly, the losses from fire are quite severe. For this reason, homeowners and business owners are wise to install a fire alarm system and have it properly maintained.
There are four main components to most fire alarm systems:
- Control panel: installed in the home or building and processes signals.
- Initiating devices: smoke or heat detectors, pull stations, duct detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors.
- Notification devices: provides alarm notifications through sound and lights to both the home or building occupants and monitoring station.
- Monitoring station: monitors any incoming alarms and notifies the appropriate public authorities (fire department, police, ambulance, etc.), and authorized individuals selected by you.
Federal and Local Authoritative agencies require testing of new and/or modified alarm systems prior to occupying the facility. Most agencies require regular interval testing to ensure your system is working properly and provide NFPA 72 inspection reports accordingly.
Daily, 24-Hour test can be programmed into your system to test monitoring station connectivity.
